Nauticus Appoints New Staff Members
To help fully initiate its new fundraising strategy, Nauticus has recently hired Tristan Carter-Warren as Director of Major Gifts and Kate Elizabeth Hobart as Coordinator of Grants and Development.
Tristan Carter Warren has more than 14 years experience in development and communications in the Hampton Roads area, having served as Executive Director of Norfolk NATO Festival and Major Gifts Officer for the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.
Prior to moving to Hampton Roads, Carter-Warren served as Legislative Analyst for the House Republican Conference, U.S. House of Representatives and Director of Government Relations for the National Association of Broadcasters. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree from George Mason University. She will oversee fundraising of major gifts to the Nauticus Foundation, as well as the corporate membership program.
Kate Hobart previously served as Coordinator of Grants and Government Relations at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford, Connecticut where she devised and coordinated legislative action pertaining to the education, arts, sports and entertainment industries. Hobart was also very involved in Hartford’s “iQuilt” – a downtown revitalization and development plan focusing on the arts and green living concepts. She holds a certificate in Arabic from the Monterey Institute of International Studies (Monterey, CA) and is a graduate of The George Washington University (Washington, D.C.) Her duties at Nauticus will include grant writing and the management of foundation giving and federal, state and local funding to support operations and educational programming throughout the Nauticus campus, including aboard Battleship Wisconsin.
