Nauticus’ Fantail Friday Film Festival Presents 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea

On Friday, August 5, 2011 at 8:30 p.m., Nauticus, in partnership with the Dolphin Scholarship Foundation, will host 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, the second movie of this season’s popular Fantail Friday Film Festival aboard the Battleship Wisconsin. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This 1954 Disney adventure classic stars Kirk Douglas, James Mason (as Captain Nemo) and Peter Lorre – and features the best giant squid battle scene of all time. The event is also cosponsored by Chic-fil-A, whose cow mascot will be on hand that evening for fun and free coupons.
The Dolphin Scholarship Foundation’s mission is to provide assistance for undergraduate college study for the children/stepchildren of eligible active, retired, or former members of the United States Navy who have served in, or in direct support of,the U.S. Submarine Force. It was established in 1960 to assist children of the U.S. Submarine force with college scholarships through private fundraising and donations as well as any dividends from its trust fund.
Doors open at 7:30 p.m. No reservations are required. Tickets are $3 and may be purchased at the Nauticus Admissions desk prior to each film. Concessions will be available for purchase. Camp/beach chairs and blankets are strongly recommended.
