Nauticus to Host Special Day for Homeschoolers

Nauticus will welcome homeschoolers for a special day of hands-on science programs, demonstrations and films on Tuesday, January 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Want to learn about sea creatures? Stop by the Shark Lab and Horseshoe Crab Cove. Weather fans should experience Science on a Sphere, a six foot weather globe, to learn about ocean currents around the world and new data on recent weather and geologic events. Younger children will love “Creature Feature,” a short film followed by a live animal presentation. Participants can also take home free educational materials from the NOAA Educator Resource Center, and enjoy a discount in the Banana Pier Gift Shop.

The cost for Homeschool Day is $10.95 per adult, with two children (ages 4 – 12) admitted free with every paid adult. Children ages 3 and under are complimentary. Please note that this admission price does not include interior tours of Battleship Wisconsin, although discounted tour tickets are available upon arrival on a first come first served basis.
