In this program students experience what causes weather, different types of weather, and the tools used to forecast the weather, plus compare the factors of warm and cold air, investigate the science of meteorology and explore the severe conditions of a tornado. MAGIC PLANET, (Portable Science on a Sphere) Basic Demonstration (grades 5-12) Experience the wonders of NOAA’s Science on a Sphere in your classroom with our Magic Planet display. This demonstration covers social and earth sciences and can be modified to fit your Standards of Learning needs. Students will observe how the weather patterns move on the earth, see how hurricanes are formed, find out where the major seismic hot spots are around the world and view the 2004 Southeast Asia tsunami.
