A Note For Our Troops
In celebration of Fleet Week Hampton Roads, Nauticus created a special 24-foot tribute wall entitled "A Note to Our Troops." This was located on the riverfront deck surrounding the Battleship Wisconsin, the wall was available daily (weather permitting) from October 10 through November 23, for visitors to write a note of gratitude or appreciation to our service men and women.
The messages were photographed daily and some were posted on the Nauticus website [1] and on our Facebook pages for the Wisconsin [2] and Nauticus [3].
The images of the notes are now on display in a special photographic exhibit that is available for viewing on the first floor of Nauticus.

Guns, Sweat, and Gears: Anatomy of a Battleship.
Relive the past with enormous gun devices, tools and personal mementos from Norfolk's own Battleship Wisconsin. This exhibit includes a 2,400 pound military analog computer, a 12-foot long optical range finder, WWII racks (bunks), galley equipment, shell sleds and cradles for moving the Wisconsin’s 16 inch gun ammunition, a 48-star U.S. flag, and dozens of never-before-seen archival images.
