Homeschool Science Club

February-March 2010 - 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Discover the story of the Whydah, a slave ship turned pirate ship. Her artifacts are displayed at Nauticus for a limited time. Take an in-depth look at this unique story with your students.

Topics to be covered include: Slavery, Life at Sea and Underwater Archaeology

  • February 12th: Meet at Nauticus; Review Science Club; Underwater Archeology Program and Corrosion Experiments
  • February 26th: Meet at Moses Myers House; Programming on Slavery
  • March 12th: Pirate Re-enactors; Pirate Blast program; Catching the Wind program
  • March 26th: Tour of the Real Pirates Exhibit

Details: Geared towards children ages 8 to 12.

Cost:

  • Non-Members - $85 per child for all 4 workshops.
  • Members - $80 per child for all 4 workshops.
  • Children under 5 years old are free. Must have a minimum of 15 participants. There is a maximum of 20 participants.

Reservations are required; registration deadline is February 5, 2010.
