CAMP NAUTICUS
SNOWA CAMP @ NAUTICUS
Are you a parent who needs a safe place to take the kids when school is out, but you have to work? Then look no more. Nauticus has the answer to your situation-SNOWA Camp.
SNOWA-School's Not Open-We Are-is an innovative program designed to address the needs of working parents and our community. The camp provides safe, interactive, education-based care when our public school systems close with short notice due to snow storms, hurricanes or other unpredictable situations but conditions are safe enough at our facility to offer such care. SNOWA may also be offered on teacher in-service days or school holidays to accommodate the needs of our community.
Implemented on an as-needed basis, the camp is geared to students in grades one through six, who will be taught in a group setting, similar to a one-room schoolhouse. Teen volunteers (14 and older) are welcome to assist with camp activities and may sign up as volunteers. Each camper should bring a bag lunch and beverage and wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty.
Here's how the SNOWA Camp works:
Pre-registration will be required for all camp dates. Fees will need to be pre-paid for scheduled dates at time of registration. Inclement weather days can be pre-paid the day of camp. Forty registrations will be confirmed in advance. There will be a minimum of five attendees to hold camp. To register your child, fill out the pre-registration form and email it to the SNOWA Camp coordinator. If you have any questions, please call 664-1041.
SNOWA Camp will be activated on an as-needed basis and registrants will be notified of the camp's opening (or closure) via telephone or email by 7 a.m. on the possible day of the camp.
