Seabots: Pilots of the Deep Nauticus' exciting new exhibit takes visitors behind the scenes of Remote Operated Vehicles (ROVs) – underwater robots which scour the oceans exploring the mysteries of the sea! Seabots combines elements of Extreme Deep: Mission to the Abyss with an innovative "living laboratory" that lets you see invention in action – or take part in it yourself!

ON EXHIBIT!
Carte de Visite This exhibit features cartes de visite, a unique collection of Civil War photographs from the collection of Ambassador John William Middendorf II. These small, commercially produced cards, each with a mounted photograph, were the 19th century equivalent of today's baseball cards, and allowed people to see and own images of celebrated persons.

New Film
An Enduring Legacy: The U.S. Navy and the 1907 Jamestown Exposition Developed by the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, this 26 minute film traces the importance of the Jamestown Exposition to the region and its influence on the development of the naval station at Sewells Point. The film will be shown in the new Jamestown Exposition exhibit area after its debut in the Nauticus theater. A special opening event will accompany this film. Call 664-1000 for details.

May 10, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Pre-School Science Adventures. This fun, interactive program for children ages 2-5 includes a story time, craft activity, game and a guided tour of a Nauticus exhibit. This month's theme is "Mermaids." Fee. Call (757) 664-1044.

May 10-11, Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
Hurrah for Broadway! The Hurrah Players will perform an exciting musical revue celebrating the greatest shows and songs from Broadway in the Nauticus theater. Fee. Call (757) 627-5437 to make a reservation.

Mother's Day Mothers receive free admission when accompanied by a paying child. No other discounts apply.

May 11-18
National Tourism Week Nauticus will offer a special buy-one-get-one free admission when a local ID or driver’s license is presented. Tourism workers get in free with valid ID. No other discounts apply.

Blue Planet Forum Lecture Series Nauticus kicks off a brand new lecture series, Blue Planet Forum: Exploring the Bay and Beyond with a talk by James Woolsey, former U.S. Central Intelligence Director. Woolsey will speak in the Nauticus theater on "Energy, Security and the Long War of the 21st Century." Presented by Nauticus, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Nauticus and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Free; Limited seating so pre-registration required. Fourth Friday Family Science Night! Nauticus kicks off a new series of evening science fun. May 23's theme is "Urban Ecology," featuring make your own dirt, geocaching, urban forestry and more! Free for members, $5 for prospective members. Call 664-1014 to RSVP by May 21.
